WHO IS JESUS?
This is perhaps the most important question for all mankind. The ticket to eternal life is not about the works that one will perform while on earth, it’s not how good a person you are, its not even about your intelligence, fitness or riches. It boils down to how you answer this question. Who is Jesus?
1. JESUS IS GOD
Jesus is God, a Person of the triune or trinity Godhead, co-eternal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity is the foundational Christian belief that God is one Being who exists in three Persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit.
* John 1:1-5
* I John 5:7
* Genesis 1:26
* Acts 2:36
* Philippians 2:9-11
He is the all-powerful ruler over all things physical, social and individual; over nations, political systems and the individual heart; over death, wrongdoing and guilt. Whether we believe this or not doesn’t change the reality of who He is. Jesus Christ is the central message of the Bible, the figure that all of history points to, and the focal point of mankind’s future.
2. JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD
This means Jesus was Fully God and Fully Man. He called Himself, Son of Man meaning God who became human.
Philippians 2:6-8 (NIV)
6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death —
even death on a cross!
* John 1:14
* Hebrews 2:5-18
* Colossians 1:15-20
* Matthew 16:16
Jesus was a man like everyone else and he performed many miracles in his life. As the book of Philippians teaches He set aside His Divinity and take up humanity. Therefore He was 100 percent God and 100 percent Man.
While on earth in humanity he performed many miracles which showed that God was with Him and had appointed Him to establish God’s Kingdom (his rule) on earth – where justice, love, mercy and grace reign. Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies found in the Old Testament that confirm Him as God’s saviour of mankind.
Now you know where all the good movies get their ideas from. Except this isn’t the Matrix or Harry Potter, this is real. By living a perfect and sinless life before God, and by perfectly carrying out God’s mission of love to the world, and by resisting all the temptations of the Devil, Jesus did not carry the guilt that we all carry before God.
3. JESUS IS THE SAVIOUR
He did many important things that changed the course of mankind.
• JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED!
Jesus was crucified by the plan of God, carried out by men. By arranging his crucifixion, despite His innocence, that through Jesus the world should be saved from the judgement and penalty of sin and death.
* Matthew 27:45-54
* Isaiah 53:1-12
* John 3:16-19
Jesus’ contemporaries sought a temporary political victory for their nation over the occupying forces of Rome. But it became something far different – Jesus’ death achieved aa spiritual victory for all of mankind. As the perfect man he traded his life to satisfy God’s justice against all of mankind’s sin. For God must uphold justice, as we would expect from any king. Except God’s love and mercy for mankind meant that the only way he could satisfy both his justice and love was to pour out his justice (wrath) on a willing, perfect substitute. Jesus was that willing substitute and He therefore paid the price of our sin on our behalf.
JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD!
* Matthew 28:1-10
* John 11:25-26
* I Corinthians 15:54
* I Peter 1:3
* Romans 8:11
* I Thessalonians 4:13-15
Jesus rose from the dead and was seen by over 500 people before ascending to heaven. His resurrection was the final victory over death, meaning that all who trust in Jesus step into this victory and will not die eternally. It also means that all who trust in Him can enjoy God’s life right now and know God personally.
The resurrection was also Jesus’ victory over the Devil who was not able and can now never stop God’s plan of redemption to mankind. God’s true character of being both perfectly loving and perfectly just show how empty the Devil’s philosophies and ideas about God, which are pervasive in this world, actually are.
Christians trust Jesus rather than themselves, their good works or even their religious works to save them from God’s justice. That’s what it means to ‘have faith in Jesus’. His rising from the dead proved that God declares mankind free. All that remains is for people to accept this freedom from God. number of items is limited in this block. Open

Our journey started when a twenty-one year old young man responded to the call of God, left his home town of Lower Gweru and headed to Harare where he planted a church in Dzivaresekwa which eventually became Living Hope Christian Fellowship (LHCF). Then in 1997 Tabernacle of Worship Church (TWC) was planted after a few guys that where a part of LHCF Dzivaresekwa but staying in Kuwadzana began meeting in a house as a home group. Many more people joined the meetings and that was the birth of TWC as we know it. Initially, both LHFC and TWC were part of a denomination called Church of Christ Holiness before they became autonomous local churches. It has been a journey of faith in the Lord and we continue to grow with more church plants in Harare Central Business District and Hatcliff.
Biblically we believe there are two leadership offices in the local church which are Elders and Deacons. (Philippians 1:1, Acts 6:1-7 ) These together with the saints function together as one team to fulfill the vision that God has given the local Church. Elders are responsible to govern the local church. (Acts 20:28, I Timothy 5:17)
• We believe elders are the highest human governing authority in the local church.
• They have the responsibility to guide, guard and govern (shepherd) God’s people in the local church.
• The eldership team is accountable to the Trans-local team, and in the case of TWC we partner with New Covenant Ministries International (NCMI).
Deacons work together with the eldership team to administer the affairs of the church. And any other Biblical ministry to God or to man can be carried out by the priesthood of all believers (1 Peter 2:9). Each and every one of us has a calling in life let’s move to perfection of what God has for us. If it’s singing sing, if it’s preaching preach, if it’s helping
others help, its encouraging encourage. (Romans 12:5-8)

New Covenant Ministries International (NCMI) is a trans-local ministry, with an apostolic heart, that is comprised of men and women who,
through partnership, help pastors/elders build their local churches in doing the work of Jesus Christ’s Kingdom in their areas. Their work is in equipping and mobilizing believers for the fulfillment of the work of the Kingdom and the discipling of the nations. The mission is to know Jesus and to make Jesus known NCMI is simply a name given to a team with recognized Ephesians 4:11 gifts (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers) who partner in their commitment to the same vision of working, on a grass-roots level,
with local churches to accomplish God's mandate of making disciples of all nations.
Church leaders partner with NCMI voluntarily and through commitment. There are no documents to sign, there is no headquarters, and there is nothing that makes our partnerships formal and legally binding. We see the Church as a grouping of people that God has called out to bring and demonstrate his message of life, grace, reconciliation, and redemption in the world (the “Priesthood of All Believers”), to make disciples of all nations.
